The Village Voice’s article, “Real Men Get Their Facts Straight,” aimed at Ashton Kutcher’s claim that there are 100,000 to 300,000 in the US, ignited a twitter war between the actor and the news publication. In the article, the Village Voice specifically looks at the number of trafficked victims arrested for prostitution as a way to justify their belief that the 100,000 to 300,000 is a gross exaggeration. This blog will take a look at the figures of sex trafficking in the US and the Voice’s motivation for denouncing sex trafficking as a problem in the US.
