Broward and Dade Counties, Florida
Shared Hope International conducted a field assessment to examine the access to and delivery of services to victims of Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking (DMST) in Broward and Miami-Dade counties, Florida. The Broward and Miami-Dade counties Assessment may serve as a springboard for Human Trafficking task forces, coalitions, and working groups in order to prioritize the identification and protection of DMST victims in Southern Florida.
The Assessment found that Broward and Miami-Dade counties have a high number of domestic minor sex trafficking victims, many of which do not have access to appropriate treatment and care. Nonetheless, the dedication of many organizations working together to fight trafficking in their communities demonstrates the potential to eradicate the exploitation of South Florida’s children.
