Arizona
Due to the success of prior projects related to domestic minor sex trafficking, Shared Hope International will continue work to elaborate the problem of domestic minor sec trafficking, raise awareness, and train first responders in Arizona.
Starting July 2010, Shared Hope will conduct an assessment in Arizona to examine the practices and procedures used to identify and deliver services to victims of domestic minor sex trafficking – American children who are exploited for commercial sex. Once the assessment is released, Shared Hope aims to use the findings as a springboard for action to tighten gaps in Arizona's response to the identification and response to domestic minor sex trafficking.
Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking
The implementation of a Rapid Assessment in Arizona will begin with background research and review of activities, services, cases and reports of DMST and DMST-related incidences in the area. Stakeholders will be encouraged to participate in meetings to share data and report their response to domestic minor sex trafficking. The media and community will be involved in mobilizing Arizona in strategizing responses to the problem for the community.
Specialized training
Shared Hope International has extensive experience with training. Training videos and companion viewing guides have been specifically designed to increase awareness and identification of child sex trafficking by those who are likely to come in contact with them. Nearly 10,000 law enforcement officers and other first responders have been trained across the country. Training opportunities will be provided in conclusion of the research in Arizona.
