Goal for the National Training Conference: To provide professionals with the information, training and tools necessary to identify domestic minor sex trafficking (DMST)/commercial sexual exploitation of children (CSEC) in their communities. Proper victim identification allows for the rescue and restoration of domestic minor sex trafficking victims and the prosecution of their offenders.
What is DMST/CSEC: Domestic minor sex trafficking (DMST) is the commercial sexual exploitation of American children under the age of 18, who are citizens or lawful permanent residents. DMST includes the sexual exploitation of youth through prostitution (i.e., trading sexual acts for compensation such as money, food, drugs, and/or shelter), pornography or other forms of commercial sexual performance, including stripping. Suggested Attendees: The purpose of the National Training Conference is to provide information and training to professionals employed by agencies or organizations in the fields of law enforcement, legal services, child protective services, social work, children’s advocacy, therapy, and medicine who work directly with youth (under 18) exploited or at risk of exploitation through prostitution, pornography or sexual performance. Registration will be accepted by those meeting the professional criteria.
