Although there is still much to be done, SHI is grateful for the strides we have made in saving the lives of women and children bound by the sex trafficking industry. The following are stories of young woman who have journeyed out of what seemed impossible circumstances into a life of hope.


Venicia - the Netherlands
Venicia was a university student in Nigeria having trouble getting money for her tuition and books. Another student told her about an “aunt” who helped people get an education in Europe. [Read full story]

Ganga was sold into sexual slavery by a family member when she was only 11 or 12 years old. In the brothel in Mumbai, she was locked in a room, tortured, abused and threatened with death if she didn't service the long line of customers 24 hours a day. [Read full story]
